Strangehold

Yesterday, I borrow 1 games from my friend, and I tried to play in XBOX 360, It’s Amazing !

Many game studios have worked on game titles based on movies, such as Matrix, Lego Star Wars, King Kong, Spider-Man.. and the latest to join the bandwagon is John Woo’s 1992′ classic movie Hard Boiled. The game however, isn’t called Hard Boiled - it’s called Strangehold and is a sequel to the movie. In the game, Inspector “Tequilla” Yuen is unleashing his unorthodox policing methods on Russian crime bosses in both Hong Kong and Chicago. It stars the likeness of original lead Chow Yun Fat and has been developed with hands-on help from director John Woo - who it turns out does seem to know a thing or two about video games

Of course video games have been ripping off John Woo for years, particularly his trade mark slow motion shots of two handed pistol action. As a result this initially seems dangerously similar to games such as Max Payne, but the graphical power of the Xbox 360 ensures that this is a far more dynamic and interactive affair. Not only can you make use of a bullet time effect (called “Tequilla Time” in the game) to slow down time around you, but almost all of the scenery can be used too, from sliding down banisters firing guns to scooting across the room on top of a waiter’s trolley.

The damage done as you go is truly impressive, with tiles shattering of the walls, chandeliers impaling bad guys as they fall and electric wires and water mains unhinging themselves everywhere. Making a mess has never been so much fun! In the game, Inspector “Tequilla” Yeun is still a rogue cop on the Hong Kong police force, and when a member of the force turns up dead, Tequilla steps up to deal with the situation. What follows is a sometimes confusing and ham-fisted story of gangs double- and triple-crossing one another.

In ten years, and beyond..

I don’t want to get too far ahead of ourselves, but the next couple of decades could dramatically change computing. I try to look forward to delving into these advances in future issues.

  • 2014 : Wireless chip integration onto the CPU die and advance coprocessing.
  • 2016 : Hybrid laptops with solar cells and lithium ion batteries.
  • 2018 : System cache size big enough to run operating systems.
  • 2022 : “Spintronics,” technology that changes the quantum spin of electrons. Some call this “Quantum Computing”.
  • 2027 : Holographic processing, with advanced projection technology, to allow users to do away with displays.

Girl…

Girls… they are beautiful
and they are nice, also they are sensitive

But girls, I can’t understand you because…

If I say you’re pretty, you’ll say you’re not
If I say some one is pretty, you’ll get jealous
If I say you’re weak, you’ll say “You’re wrong!”
If I treat you rough, you’ll scream “I’m a lady”
If I help you, you’ll say I’m wooing
If I don’t, you’ll say I don’t care
If I phone you, you’ll say I’m wasting your time
If I don’t, you’ll say you miss me
If I kiss you, you’ll say I’m taking advantage
If I don’t, you’ll say I’m not romantic
If I remember your birthday, you’ll say it’s nothing
If I don’t, you’ll cry without stopping
If I care you, you’ll say “I don’t need that”

And lastly, if I say I love you, you never give your answer
If I say I don’t… Better forget it

Girls.. I really don’t know how to understand you
