Social Google

Google has unveiled OpenSocial, a set of APIs for building social applications online. OpenSocial is a set of application programming interfaces (APIs) that will allow web developers to create applications for a variety of social networks, rather than having to learn a different markup language for each new social networking platform.

The list of web organisations already signed up to use OpenSocial is already lengthy, and crucially - as far as competitor Microsoft and part MS-owned Facebook are concerned includes social networking giant MySpace. According to Google, the release of OpenSocial marks the first time that multiple social networks have been made accessible under a common API, potentially making development and distribution easier for developers.

Caught In a Web

Yesterday, I went to Bookstore in Doha and I bought a computer magazine and read some article, I’m surprised because the all articles is about Internet addiction. and I try to blog all about it…

How do you know if you’re playing too much Second Life or have become a true Facebook fanatic ? When your folks send you to boot camp for web addiction !. According to some sites, Internet Addiction is defined as “spending more than to hours on the web and experiencing anger or withdrawal when not online”. While we disagree that spending more than two hours online makes you an addict, I tried to took the net addiction test at netaddiction.com/resources/internet_addiction_test just to be sure.

So what do you do if you don’t pass the test ? Fear not, South Korea has the answer. A web addiction cam called ‘jump up’, which aims to encourage teens to log out of the online world and into the great outdoor. Not a bad idea; run through obstacle courses.
